While strolling in Shahpur Jat village in New Delhi, we came across this shop with such an inviting appeal to it , that we could not stop ourselves from entering it.
Dastakari collections by Preeti and Rajiv Suri, is an elite home decor and lifestyle store. From hand made ceramics, urban rugs, vintage lamps and radios to ethnic products, they have it all. Their stuff is different from the usual but has an added quirkiness to it.
Rajiv and Preeti decided to quit their monotonous corporate job life since they realised that their roots lie in the field of creativity.They wanted to pursue their passion of making every house a warm and comfortable shelter. Their ideology was to do something out of the box which clearly reflects in their collection .
A lot of items at the store are made from discarded stuff like radios, bike parts and helmets. Using denim in rugs, re-purposed wood in home decorative is not something usual. If that's what you're looking for, Dastakari collections will have it all. Their hand-painted crockery, funky show-pieces, antiques are something that you need to have your hands on. The designers do customised products too, but only on a bulk order.
